Manipulation is a comfortable chair | kriskemp.com

Some years ago, I completed a book of quotes and added some illustrations to them. You can read this at www.bicycledays.com My intention is to scan the book and upload it to the www.bicycledays.com website.

At the moment, though, the handwritten book is sitting in West Palm Beach, Florida, in my sister’s backyard shed, which can get damp. Before leaving, I put this book and other hand-written journals into a garbage bag and wrapped it up to keep it airtight, or as airtight as possible with the resources available.

Following the advice of a best friend, I’ve decided to redraw some of these, scan them, and post them online. Look, I know there not great or anything, but like you, and everyone else, we’re all being chased by a culprit known as time and by an adversary known as death, so I feel compelled to share what I’ve been given–ideas, thoughts, collections–with the world, or at the least the world that visits this website.

In sharing what we have with others, we can set up campfires of inspiration and conversation for which others can gather around, share their stories, and participate in the grand parade of humanity known as life.

manipulation is a comfortable chair, drawing, cartoon, comic, illustration, art, artist

At some point or another, most of us have been manipulated. And sometimes, that point of manipulation, even though not productive, can become a comfortable chair. When that happens, a question that you might want to ask yourself is this: Do I enjoy the manipulation and trust the process, or do I make a decision to break free in spite of what happens.
