If you’re feeling tired of running through the maze of of the so-called rat race, looking for that same piece of cheese that so many others are supposedly hungry for, and are disappointed to find that the the piece of cheese remaining has been devoured by others before you and that what remains are a few moldy crumbs, it’s time for you to take a holiday and reassess what it is you’re looking for and what you’re willing to do to get it.

Essentially, if you’re looking to get more freedom in you life, and it’s apparent you are because you’re reading this, you need to ask yourself some questions and then answer them honestly.

1. What is it that you are looking for?
2. How do you define freedom?
3. What is it that you are willing to do in order to get what you are looking for? What is it that you are willing to do in order to get freedom.

In order for you to be motivated enough to get what you want in life, you first have to be absolutely clear and sure about what it is you want.

Most of us, including me, and probably you, too, have been spoon fed or fork fed or force fed what it is others want for us. Granted, most others want the best for us, but their version of what’s best for us is not necessarily our version of what’s best for us. By that, I mean, they probably want us to be happy, and we probably want to be happy, too. However, happiness to them might mean a different thing than happiness to you or I.

1. First, get really clear about what you want.

You can do this by writing down exactly what you want. Just write. Just type. Say it out loud. Let it all come out in a torrent of verbs and nouns and colorful adjectives that float out of your mouth and into the atmosphere around you.

There’s a power in writing down what you want and in saying out loud what you want.

2. Define what freedom means to you.

Does it mean being able to eat out at a nice restaurant twice a week? Does it mean never having to work for anyone else ever again in your life? Does it mean only working 2 days a week? Whatever it is, whatever freedom means to you, you have got to define it.

Once you define what it is that freedom means to you, then you will be able to see it, to visualize it, to hear it, to feel it. And once that happens, you will become familiar with that vision, that sound, that feeling. And once that happens, you will be able to get comfortable with it. When you get comfortable with something, you can attract it that much easier.

This works in the area of relationships, too. Think about it. If you see some beautiful stranger walking down the street and you approach them nervously and ask them for their phone number and a date, you are likely to get a negative response. Why? Because you are acting nervous and uncomfortable. This leads to you being incongruent with who you really are, in that you are not being yourself. So, you’re likely to get turned down.

3. What is it you are willing to do in order to get what you are looking for? What is it you are willing to do in order to get more freedom in your life?

Now that you know what you want, since you have written it down, typed it, told a friend, said it out loud, then it’s time for you to ask yourself: What am I willing to do in order to get it?

If you want to work for yourself, what are you willing to do in order to work for yourself? Are you willing to give up the certainty of working for someone else? Are you willing to learn a new skill in order to demonstrate value to people who will pay you for your product or service or both?

I work for myself. I’ve been blessed to have a lot of help and also the kindness of friends, family, and acquaintances let me live with them for cheap or free. I’ve also put in some serious effort into learning real estate investing, taken certain risks, and been blessed to have opportunities come my way. Thankfully, I get checks from payments from real estate and also earn money online, too. I share how I learned this and how you can learn and apply this to at http://www.FlipFloridaLand.com

One of the things that I did, in order to get into real estate investing, was live with friends. I lived with Scott Thourot, on his living room couch, and paid no rent. Instead of paying rent, I helped him with chores and also with maintenance on his rental properties (duplexes). Doing this allowed me to save money and learn from him about real estate investing.

I also lived in David Knight’s kitchen. I slept on the floor, kind of under a table. I had a sleeping bag over a foam mattress that I found on the side of the road. When I lived with him, I worked at Papa John’s delivering pizzas, and was able to save money for my first investment property. I also wrote a screenplay, The Last Pizza Delivery Driver on Earth, during my stay there.
